Critiques

:iconsockporn:
There is something alluring about you. The way you position yourself, your face, your expression, everything. It shows in your photography as well. I don't know what it is, but there is a certain feel, (to me anyway) that makes it distinctly yours. I get very excited when I see your work in my inbox and I think that this piece especially deserves a critique. I love your macro stuff as well, but if I had enough time in the day to critique all of the pieces (Macro and non macro alike) that I love then I would have very very long days.
Anyway, enough blabbering. On to the more important part of the critique: the actual critique!

Vision is first. I especially love how you set this up. I honestly believe that the image's meaning differs per person. ( so I don't know what this means for you, but I believe whatever idea you had for this was well played and very beautiful.) For vision, 5/5

Originality next. I think I'll give this a 4.5/5 because while it is a gorgeous piece of work, there are other smoke photos out there. however, I don't think I have seen one quite like this. Again, I am only speaking for myself.

For technique, I'm not sure exactly what I'm supposed to rate here. if it is individual style, then I'd definitely give it a 5/5. so here it is.

And last but not least impact. I believe this piece is wonderful and means a lot for each individual person. However this piece did not strike me with anything more than "wow that's really beautiful." If you'd like my personal opinion, I think you could try working on telling a story for each individual photo. as I said before, this is gorgeous but other than that feeling, I am not feeling very much impact-wise here. I'll give you a 2.5 because I think that is appropriate.

In conclusion, thank you for sharing your work with the people of deviantart. I really enjoy everything I see from you and I hope to see a lot more in the future! I hope this was a fair critique.
Best of wishes.
-kt

(P.s.. excuse any small or large grammatical errors if you can... I went through it after writing to see if there were any but it's 12 at night here while I'm writing this so there's a large possibility there are quite a few.)

Wow, absolutely stunning, beautiful colour scheme, lovely atmosphere, perfect pose, perfect tension throughout the model's body, lovely effect with the smoke, if I could say anything, I would say that perhaps his eyes could have been closed to look like he was exhaling in or breathing our some mystic smoke but this is pretty damn good anyway. Lovely work!

i wanted to ask how you created the smoke until i saw your description lol!

i thought it was the cold! XD
:iconshatteredswords:
You're welcome  Since I don't know much about technical photography stuff, I didn't quite have enough lines for a critique so that was my compromise =p
:icontory-magnetto:
love smokers. But where is the lit cigarette?
:iconsharmz:
gosh this is so lovely <3
i love the cold colour scheme and how you made the smoke look really natural
normally i'd tell you not to smoke, but it created a really amazing effect here :)
even your hair styling works so perfectly here, it seems to be flowing in the same direction of the smoke
i also love your pose, it looks really natural and your facial expression matches the direction of the photo too ^_^

kepp it up :D
