I adore matryoshka dolls. I own several of them, and have tons of pictures of them, but none of those pictures are as beautiful as this one is. I had to add it to my favorites.

Matrioshka and babushka mean the same. Both terms are in common use for this doll.

How big aperture did you use here? Do you have any extension tubes to help you getting that close?

My cousin brought me one of those dolls back from Russia when I was little and I've always loved them. The forest setting with such a whimsical doll is charming.

this is matrioshka - матрёшка! XDDDD And the word "matrioshka" doesn't mean "grandma", that's for sure.
Gosh, where are those of mine now? I had a lot of them XD
